Appearance

Karmic is a 7'6'' tall half gnoll hailing from Scyldic. He has short thick fur that is marred by numberous old scars and blue eyes. While holding being a noble he wears more simple clothes made of kavaca which he often mixes in with furs of large beasts he's hunted in the new world, though even dressed as such he still carries Frostcleaver, a mighty brozen Cyclopean weapon with strange markings. When major events call for it, he wears a long cloak of white and orange cliffdiver feathers, a prized treasure of his.

During more pratical times, such as when he's travelling, he'll wear simple leathers and furs sticked together and patched up, hailing back to his early days as a bandit.

Early Life

Born from a survivor from a raid in MC-983, Karmic always had luck on his side. He survive not being just slain when he was born as the lord struck a seam of silver the same day, the messenger running in and literally yelling the good news, and the lord deeming him a lucky charm.

He spent his early childhood as a sort of pet to the lord, kept around for the strange amount of luck that seemed to occur - accidents that turned out positive outcomes, such as when Karmic dropped a bottle of wine, only for it to turn out to be poisoned. In these early years, the lords son found it amusing to teach Karmic how to read and write, a skill Karmic turned into forger as he got better.

Trouble always found Karmic, and around the age of twelve Karmic decided to leave his struggling mother, as the abuse she suffered from his existence born too deeply on his heart. He ended up travelling south and getting into all sorts of trouble, and quickly learned that people expected certain things from a gnoll and got more suspicious of one when they didn't conform to it. He leaned into the sterotype just enough dodge suspicion, often finding friends in the strangest places. During these years he met Yawyn who became good friends with him, often trusting Karmic as things almost always turned out well for the gnoll, regardless of what sort of trouble he ended up in during the process.

While in Giltun in Cambronn, Karmic ran out of money however knew just enough of the city he knew where the rough and ready sort was. Interested in making a little quick coin and getting out of town, Karmic simply planned on mugging a mugger that had annoyed him since he'd gotten into town. As Karmic arrived, he saw what a terrible job the mugger as doing and simply laughed at him, scaring off the mugger. This lead to Karmic saving a merchant by the name of Eadwin of Jarrow, a good souled fellow that hired Karmic as a bodyguard. They parted ways in Astara in MC-997.

Exploration of the New World

Having just parted with Eadwin, Karmic found himself in the somewhat hostile city of Astara. Hearing of a job requesting sailors and taking anyone, Karmic signed up and was promptly assigned to the Stormchaser due to being a gnoll, though somewhat offset by his sheer size and strenght. After setting sail for the new world, Karmic slowly lowered the barriers he'd spent years errecting as he developed freindship with many of the crew, even being forutnate enough to have Yawyn about, who had also signed up. He was able to start writing again deciding to keep a journal and felt like he didn't have to rely on exclusively being a large brute.

He was picked as part of the initial landing group, along with Sal, Zaina and Hush. The four of them would begin exploring the coastline in a jolly boat that would eventually become Patches, and soon joined by Pierre when they found signs of native life. When they came upon the first Cyclopean ruins, Karmic did a series of dives along with Zaina, as was able to claim Frostcleaver from the ruins.

Soon after this, a native ship passed by the Stormchaser and the Founders pursed. This chasing ultimately damaged their ship during a storm, though they were able to land next to the natives. During the storm, one would approach the founders to make a simple trade, only to be abandoned by accident. This first native would be a Manavi named Lok hailing from the Janatan tribe, and travelled back with the Founders to the Stormchaser.

While on their return journey, they were blown off-course, ending up at the pillar mountains. Curiosity got the better of the group, and they made the arduous climb 5 miles up onto the top. This is where they learned much of the cliffdivers, and were able to whisk away a young cliffdiver runt that would grow to become Karmic's faithful steed Viper. After some more exploring, discovering the first of the Lighthouses, they were chaised off the mountain by some form of dragon, eventually sailing off and getting back to the Stormchaser.

With Patches repaired, the founders set off back down the coastline, heading in the direction Lok and the early natives had been spotted. After another several month trip, they were able to arrive at Gava, the Janata settlement Lok had set off from. They also came across another from the Old world, Akelda Le Sarkaz, the only known survivor of the Wavedancer, who agreed to join up with the group, offering her magical services and being glad to be able to speak Martellan.

During their time in Gava the group learned that Lok had failed to finish his Warrior ceremonies and needed to do so soon else he wouldn't receive the blessings of the land. The group decided to help, and travelled to the ruined city of Ravana where they had to carefully move about to avoid being drawn into too many conflicts with the undead Manavi that prowled the streets. They were eventually able to get Lok to a Fae Gate and he proceeded in. He returned two days later exhausted but confident he'd gotten his blessing of the land. The group set off, returning to the Stormchaser and the ship set off.

Returning to the Old World

The journey back to the Old World wasn't without difficulty. A now rapidly growing Viper caused space issues on deck, and even with the elves having mostly stayed behind in the New World space for various treasures was tight. What made issues worse was a plague that bounced between the crew and couldn't be left to run it's cause and instead was simply cured away thanks to Pierre, though the crewmember then soon redeveloped it. Things got worse before they got better when the wind died down and the stores of herronroot ran out, though thankfully Karmic remembered that certain large seacreatures livers could also used as a subsitue. While it wasn't a popular decision, it was considered better than getting scurvy.

When they finally got to the Old World, the two elves that had returned with them, Gwiden and his aid, teleported away. It wasn't too much longer until they found land, and upon doing so many of the crew and Misfits jumped ship while still bearing the plague. They found themselves in Cambronn, and learned about the War of Scyldish Conquest. In doing so, the party made their way from the newly conquered territories and went to Keldpike.

After talking with the church and getting themselves all fully cured as to not spread the plague, they began the long process of selling off goods and securing varous supplies for the return journey. It was here that the founders ended up getting the job of recovering
