Les Portes Du Soleil
Les Portes Du Soleil, or the Gates of the Sun, is a large city positioned on both sides of the strait that connects the Mer Du Soleil with the sunset sea. It is traditionally a core part of Martellan territory, and it sits upon the gateway between east and west, and as a result it is one of the most trafficked ports in the world. It is home to roughly a million people, and is more metropolitan even than most interior cities. It is said that almost anything in the world can be found in the city. The city is ruled by the Duc Du Soleil, a young and expansionist lord who is mainly responsible for the westward expansion of the empire. The Duc commands a large fleet and army and has spent half of the last decade in the field. Despite his absence, the city is said to be prospering.
